Frocktober 2025 aims to surpass $1 million for Ovarian Cancer Research

Frocktober, the annual fundraising campaign spearheaded by the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) in Australia, has set its sights on surpassing the $1 million mark in 2025. This initiative, which has been instrumental in raising over $16 million since its inception, focuses on generating awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research.

Ovarian cancer remains the most lethal gynaecological cancer, with a five-year survival rate of less than 50%. Each year, more than 1,800 women and girls in Australia are diagnosed with this disease. The OCRF, recognised as Australia's leading independent funder of ovarian cancer research, is dedicated to developing early detection methods and improving treatment options.

Frocktober encourages participants to engage in community fundraising activities and social media challenges. Participants can choose from a variety of ways to get involved, such as wearing themed outfits or hosting fundraising events. The campaign aims to spark conversations about ovarian cancer symptoms and highlight the urgent need for accelerated research.

Prominent Australian personalities, including Vika & Linda, Myf Warhurst, and Carly Findlay OAM, have lent their support as ambassadors for the campaign. Their involvement is intended to amplify the campaign's reach and impact.

Robin Penty, Chief Executive Officer of the OCRF, emphasised the importance of the campaign, stating: "Ovarian cancer is still the most lethal gynaecological cancer. Frocktober encourages the Australian community to contribute to advancing critical research into ovarian cancer in a fun and inclusive way. Doing good doesn’t have to be dull! Whether you’re a fashion aficionado Frocking Up for 31 days, or choose to Frock Your Way for a single day this Frocktober, every dollar raised is a step closer to our vision of a healthy vital future for all those impacted by ovarian cancer."

The campaign's focus is not only on fundraising but also on raising awareness about the symptoms of ovarian cancer. By engaging the community in creative and enjoyable activities, Frocktober seeks to foster a broader understanding of the disease and the importance of research in combating it.

The OCRF's efforts are crucial in addressing the challenges posed by ovarian cancer. With the support of the Australian community and the involvement of high-profile ambassadors, Frocktober 2025 aims to make a significant contribution to the ongoing battle against this deadly disease.
