HubSpot opens first Australian data centre to boost local compliance and performance

HubSpot has launched its first Australian data centre, located in Sydney. This development is part of the company's global infrastructure expansion, which also includes additional data centres in the USA and Canada.

The new facility aims to enhance regional product performance, reliability, and compliance capabilities for HubSpot's Australian customers.

The Sydney data centre is expected to provide significant benefits to businesses operating in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, and government. These sectors often face stringent data residency requirements, and the local data centre is intended to assist in meeting these obligations.

Fetch TV is among the first local customers to utilise the new data centre for storing their data.

Dan Bognar, Vice President and Managing Director JAPAC at HubSpot, highlighted the importance of this investment in local infrastructure. "Australian businesses of all sizes need uncompromising performance, and we're investing to deliver exactly that. As AI and customer expectations reshape the competitive landscape, organisations need a customer platform they can trust. Our local infrastructure demonstrates our long-term commitment to helping businesses across the region grow better," Bognar stated.

In addition to compliance and performance improvements, the vendor said the new data centre is a move to support Australia's burgeoning digital economy. The digital economy in Australia is projected to reach $315 billion by 2030, underscoring the increasing demand for secure and reliable data storage solutions.

HubSpot's platform, which includes AI-powered engagement hubs, a Smart CRM, and a connected ecosystem with over 1,500 App Marketplace integrations, is designed to support businesses in their digital transformation efforts.

Bognar further emphasised the potential of Australia's digital economy, stating, "Australia's digital economy represents a significant opportunity, and businesses need the right foundation to capture it. Our investment in local infrastructure reflects our deep commitment to empowering Australian organisations with the tools they need to accelerate their digital transformation and unlock new possibilities."

Fetch TV CEO Dominic Arena, commented on the decision, saying, "For Fetch, Australian Data Sovereignty is a key pillar of our unique value proposition to our customers - Australian family households. So the Australian data centre is an important enabler and reason for us to choose to work with HubSpot for our CRM solution."
