Energy Safe Victoria taps Scooter for safety campaign

Energy Safe Victoria has initiated a new public safety campaign in collaboration with creative and marketing agency Scooter.

The campaign is designed to highlight the risks associated with ageing solar installations in Victorian homes, which can potentially lead to electrical faults and house fires if not adequately maintained.

Currently, approximately 30% of homes in Victoria are generating their own solar power, positioning the State as a leader in clean energy adoption. Despite this progress, Energy Safe Victoria has documented 138 solar-related house fires over the past three years. Many of these incidents could have been avoided with regular maintenance.

The campaign's strategy focuses on empowering homeowners to make informed decisions regarding the maintenance of their solar systems. It presents a choice between calling an A Grade electrician for maintenance or facing the risk of a house fire. To reinforce this message, the campaign features a real electrician to reassure audiences about the simplicity and importance of having a licensed professional service their solar systems.

This multi-channel campaign spans various platforms, including television, digital, social media, outdoor, and print. The creative team at Scooter responsible for the campaign includes Executive Creative Director Luke Carson, Creative Directors Olivia Gatt and Andy Segal, Designer Callum Starr, and Senior Account Manager Steph Higgins. Production was managed by SIRAP, with Alex Watkins as Director and Ellery Ryan as Director of Photography.
