Dark Mofo taps Accor Pacific as official accommodation provider
Accor Pacific has been named as the official accommodation partner for Tasmania's midwinter solstice festival Dark Mofo for 2025. The festival is set to return to the southern state this year after a one-year hiatus, running from June 5-15 and on June 21.
Dark Mofo will feature a diverse array of art, performance, live music, and events, including Night Mass parties, the Winter Feast, the Ogoh-Ogoh burning, and the Nude Solstice Swim.
The festival will take place across various locations in Hobart and extend to Launceston and Ulverstone. Accor operates four hotels in Hobart and five in Launceston, with brands such as Mövenpick, Peppers, The Sebel, Mantra, Mercure, and ibis Styles. Festival-goers can book accommodation starting from $201 per night in Hobart and $199 per night in Launceston, subject to terms and availability.
Chief Operating Officer for Accor in the Pacific, Adrian Williams, said: "We’re absolutely thrilled to reunite with Dark Mofo as an Official Accommodation Partner for 2025. There’s nothing quite like the magic and mystery of midwinter in Tasmania - Dark Mofo electrifies Hobart with its bold, provocative programming and unforgettable experiences. It’s a celebration of art, culture, music and community that ignites the senses and captures imaginations. We can’t wait to welcome festivalgoers, artists and adventurers to our hotels across the city and help make their Dark Mofo stay truly memorable."
Dark Mofo explores themes of ancient and contemporary mythology, human and nature, and religious and secular traditions. The festival is known for its bold and provocative programming, which aims to captivate and engage audiences.
Marketing and Business Director for DarkLab, Drew Berridge, said: "We’re delighted that Dark Mofo guests will once again get to experience Accor’s range of hotels as part of their festival visit and enjoy Nipaluna/Hobart in comfort during deepest darkest midwinter. Along with hosting our festival artists and performers, Accor has accommodation options to suit everyone’s budget, and we look forward to celebrating Dark Mofo together."
Dark Mofo's return is anticipated to draw significant interest from both local and international visitors, with its unique blend of cultural and artistic offerings.
