Wisr appoints Accenture Song's Álvaro Carpio Colón as first chief innovation officer

Australian fintech lender Wisr has appointed Álvaro Carpio Colón as its first chief innovation officer, with the new role to lead Wisr's design, technology, and product teams. Carpio Colón will be responsible for shaping the company's innovation strategy and product roadmap, as well as enhancing customer experiences.

Carpio Colón brings two decades of experience in product, design, technology, strategy, transformation, and marketing to Wisr. Prior to joining Wisr, he served as head of product innovation and transformation at Accenture Song. In this role, he managed strategy and business operations for one of the largest design and innovation teams in Australia and New Zealand. His career also includes roles at Citibank in the UK and Spain, where he held positions such as head of customer.

"I have been following Wisr's journey closely and I am incredibly excited about the opportunities ahead. Building on Wisr's growth trajectory, I'm eager to accelerate this momentum by launching new products that help Australians make smarter financial decisions," said Carpio Colón. "We have a unique opportunity to harness the latest technologies, from AI to intelligent systems, to design solutions that improve Australians ʼ financial lives. Wisr's mission as a purpose-driven fintech aligns with my own, and I look forward to working with the team to redefine the consumer finance space in Australia."

Wisr's platform offers digital lending and financial tools aimed at helping Australians manage debt and make informed financial decisions. The company is positioning itself for a new phase of growth with Carpio Colón's appointment.
