GenAI shortening sales cycles and lifting response rates for Australian sales professionals: LinkedIn
LinkedIn has published new research indicating AI-driven personalised outreach has resulted in an 87% increase in response rates among Australian sales professionals, with AI-powered customer relationship management (CRM) integrations recognised for streamlining workflows, reducing administrative burdens, and simplifying the scheduling of meetings.
The report, titled, 'The ROI of AI: Unlocking Growth and Productivity for Sales Professionals in 2025', integrates LinkedIn's proprietary data with insights from a survey of 1,250 sales professionals globally, including 150 participants from Australia.
According to the report, 71% of Australian sellers have experienced an average reduction of one week in their sales cycles due to AI implementation. Furthermore, 76% of Australian sellers believe that AI assists them in closing more deals.
The report highlights that 33% of sellers who utilise AI for researching leads and companies save more than 1.5 hours per week. Additionally, sellers who surpass their sales quotas are reported to be 2.5 times more likely to use AI on a daily basis.
Currently, 56% of sales professionals are using AI daily, and 73% of them believe that teams will lag behind if they do not adopt AI technologies. LinkedIn's Sales Navigator tool is identified as a key asset for top sellers, enabling them to gain a comprehensive understanding of their prospects swiftly. This tool has reportedly contributed to a 31% increase in deals closed and a 45% rise in revenue generated.
Director of Sales, Sales Solutions at LinkedIn, Tim Grogan, said: "Two years after GenAI went mainstream, the adoption and enthusiasm among B2B sales teams is undeniable. Today, 56% of sales professionals use AI daily, and 73% believe that teams will fall behind if they don't embrace AI. Our analysis of LinkedIn data, combined with a survey of global and Australian sales professionals, reveal where AI delivers the greatest ROI - from freeing up time for meaningful client interactions to shortening sales cycles and improving outreach response rates. AI's impact is already evident - particularly in driving efficiency - and in today's fast-paced market, leveraging AI isn't just a time saver, it's a business imperative."
