Intrepid Travel partners with North Melbourne Football Club for 2025 season

Intrepid Travel has announced a partnership with the North Melbourne Football Club for the upcoming 2025 season. This collaboration will see Intrepid Travel's branding prominently displayed on the AFL and AFLW playing shorts of the North Melbourne Football Club. Additionally, Intrepid Travel will serve as the official travel and experiences partner for North Melbourne's mid-season home games in Western Australia.

The North Melbourne Football Club is set to play two home matches in Bunbury and Perth in June, during Rounds 13 and 14. This partnership underscores a shared focus on gender equality between Intrepid Travel and North Melbourne Football Club. North Melbourne made history in 2023 by becoming the first AFL club to have a female leadership duo, with Jen Watt as CEO and Dr. Sonja Hood AM as president.

Intrepid Travel has been recognised for its commitment to gender equality, having announced 2023 targets that include a 40:40:20 gender representation goal and a pledge to narrow the median gender pay gap to within +/-5% in each country it operates. The company is also a certified B Corp, acknowledged for its dedication to transparency and ethical travel. Intrepid Travel has been a leader in responsible travel for over 35 years, offering small group trips with local leaders.

North Melbourne CEO Jen Watt expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome Intrepid Travel to the North Melbourne family." She further noted the alignment of values between the two organisations, saying, "Partnerships are all about alignment, but rarely do you find a partner so well aligned in terms of values. In particular, we have been so impressed with Intrepid’s commitment to positively impacting communities all around the globe."

Watt also highlighted the significance of Intrepid's role in the Western Australia home game agreement, stating, "Excitingly, the partnership will see Intrepid play an integral role in the first year of our Western Australia home game agreement as our travel and experience partner." She added, "Intrepid’s travel packages are high quality products and we know that if North Melbourne members and supporters choose to travel with Intrepid this season, they will experience some of the best the West has to offer."

Louise Laing, General Manager Marketing ANZ at Intrepid Travel, commented on the partnership's potential to inspire change, saying, "Sport has always had the power to bring people together and inspire change. As an Australian-owned company, we’re proud to partner with North Melbourne and connect with AFL fans to make a real impact both on and off the field." Laing also emphasised the ongoing commitment to diversity and equity, stating, "As the dust settles on International Women’s Day, it’s important to remember that the work to create a more diverse and equitable world is year-round."

Laing further elaborated on the significance of being a certified B Corp, saying, "At Intrepid, being a certified B Corp is about more than just business – it’s about driving meaningful progress, particularly in equality, and North Melbourne’s leadership in gender diversity and inclusivity makes this partnership the perfect fit."

Intrepid Travel's not-for-profit arm, The Intrepid Foundation, has raised over $18 million for more than 160 partners, further highlighting the company's commitment to responsible and impactful travel initiatives.
