Dee Madigan to host 2025 Women in Media Oration

Women in Media has named creative director and political commentator Dee Madigan as the master of ceremonies for the organisation's 2025 Oration event, due to be hosted on Wednesday 28 May at Dockside in Sydney's Darling Harbour.

The Women in Media Oration is an annual event that highlights influential voices and pressing issues within the media landscape. It aims to raise funds for Women in Media's programs, which support career development, safety, and leadership pathways for women in the media industry.

The event honours Caroline Jones AO and contributes to Women in Media, a registered national charity focused on improving gender equity in the media sector. This year's event will see comedian and writer Kitty Flanagan deliver the keynote address.

Dee Madigan is the Executive Creative Director of Campaign Edge, a creative advertising agency with offices across Australia. With over 25 years of experience in marketing and media, Madigan is a regular guest on ABC's Gruen and Seven's Sunrise and has "worked on almost every major Australian brand".

General Manager of Women in Media, Kym Middleton, said: "Dee Madigan brings a rare combination of media smarts and political insight and we're proud to have her leading this flagship event," Middleton said.

"As record numbers of women enter parliament, media still lags behind - women make up half the workforce, but just 30% of CEOs and MDs. The gap is real, and so is the work ahead," she said.

The Women in Media Oration is expected to sell out, following last year's event featuring Kate McClymont AM, which also reached full capacity.
