Independent media agency Atomic 212° has been appointed to the media advertising account of Greater Bank.

The move represents a reunion: Greater Bank was an Atomic 212° client for three years, until 2016.

“Greater Bank has a compelling and clearly differentiated position in the banking category, as evidenced by its strong performance and the swag of industry awards it has collected over the past year,” said Atomic 212° chief digital officer and partner, James Dixon. “Everyone at Atomic 212° is very excited about working with Greater Bank again.”

Earlier this year Greater Bank collected nine awards, including Home Lender Bank of the Year , in the 2019 Mozo Experts Choice Awards.  For the second year running, it also took out the 2019 Home Lender of the Year as part of Money magazine’s 15th annual Consumer Finance Awards and was also recognised as the Most Recommended Customer-owned Bank at the 2019 DBM Australian Financial Awards.

Greater Bank’s head of marketing and customer experience, Matthew Hingston, said Atomic 212° is a great fit for the bank.

“Greater Bank remains committed to delivering the continued success that we have experienced over the past four years since our transformation from a building society to a customer-owned bank,” he said.

“To achieve this, it is important that we partner with organisations and agencies that share our vision for innovation that will allow us to thrive in what is a highly competitive market and environment.

“Atomic 212° has a wonderful reputation for delivering innovative media solutions that get results for their clients, which is why we are very much looking forward to building a prosperous partnership with them,” he added.

Let’s go. What do you think?

Coca-Cola, Toyota, Nestle provide us valuable lessons, right now

At Nestle early in my career as a brand manager during the last recession, the company’s philosophy was to increase spending through the downturn, talk to consumers and drive brand awareness. Throughout this period Nestle kept advertising and used the increase in spend to come out the other side even stronger.

So where does this leave us today, and what should advertisers be thinking in the midst of such a difficult situation?
