Aussie expat Phil Eligio is ill and needs a bit of help. The former Guardian Australia, Aussie and Initiative exec has been working in Germany as a consultant, deep in the weeds on addressability, identity and privacy.

He’s been a massive help for Mi3, explaining complex topics succinctly and making himself available for podcasts, reports and articles – right up until a few weeks ago when we sought his thoughts on Google’s Topics.

As ever, Phil came back with a view.

We had no idea he’s really ill battling stage four cancer until it popped up in a rare linkedin post.

If readers – individuals and their companies – can help Phil and his young family, please do so here.

Update 03/03/22: Phil died yesterday, RIP. Thanks to all readers who helped. The money will go towards medical bills with anything left over for little Clara's education.
