GroupM cans global agency CEOs in leadership restructure
GroupM has restructured its global leadership team, doing away with global agency CEO roles and redistributing executive talent across the group.
The shift, which was overseen by GroupM CEO Brian Lesser, is understood to have no impact on Australian operations.
The new structure will see global Mindshare CEO Adam Gerhart become GroupM's global chief client officer, with a remit that focuses on creating best in class client service. He will oversee major accounts and client engagement strategy across all agencies globally, working in close partnership with WPP.
Global Wavemaker boss Toby Jenner will become GroupM's chief business officer, responsible for the group's market proposition, growth, marketing, and cross-WPP integration projects. He will support Lesser in driving the group’s development.
Mark Patterson has been appointed as global president of markets and business operations, charged with overseeing GroupM's APAC and LATAM markets and driving several key business initiatives including investment governance and the expansion of offshore capabilities and entertainment and sports offerings.
Emily Del Greco will also join the business as global chief operating officer, working closely with Lesser on operationalising the company's vision for the future. She will be responsible for GroupM's operations, partnerships, strategy, and corporate development and will oversee activation and investment practices.
GroupM confirmed there are no departures associated with this change, with Stuart Diamond (CFO), Marie-Claire Barker (CPO), Sharb Farjami (CEO NA), Josh Krichefski (CEO EMEA), and Cesar Recalde (CEO LATAM) all set to continue in their roles as part of GroupM’s global leadership team.
GroupM’s agencies will continue to be managed at the country level by their market CEOs, with global agency operations will be managed by a president for global client solutions who will oversee delivery for global and multinational clients at each agency.
