Law firm Maurice Blackburn has appointed Howatson+White as its creative agency as the recently founded indie starts to pick up clients.

Howatson+White has won lead creative and strategic duties for high-profile law firm Maurice Blackburn after a competitive pitch.

Maurice Blackburn works with a range of agencies, but Howatson+White has been appointed the agency of record.

The legal category spends $40 million each year, according to Nielsen, and Maurice Blackburn is the largest spender.

“Having worked with Howie and Ant before, I trust their commitment as deep business partners and leaders in creative excellence,” said General Manager of Marketing, Caroline Ruddick.

CEO and Founder of Howatson+White, Chris Howatson, said he looked forward to supporting the legal firm’s growth in a “misunderstood” category.

Howatson+White is starting to build up steam after winning creative and media strategy for Telstra-owned budget telco Belong earlier this month. The agency officially launched in March with Allianz as founder client.
