Taurus Marketing's Sharon Williams honoured with Order of Australia Medal

Founder of Taurus Marketing, Sharon Williams, was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for her service to business and the community during the Australia Day 2025 Honours List. Williams, who has been a single mother for nearly 20 years, is the first woman in her industry to receive this honour.

Williams started Taurus Marketing 30 years ago and has since mentored 2000 young people through the Taurus Academy Internship and Taurus Fast Track Programs. These initiatives, which began in 1995, have helped shape the careers of graduates, junior professionals, and working mothers.

In addition to her work at Taurus, Williams has provided a long list of pro-bono services. She served on the Board of the White Knight Foundation for seven years and was hand-picked by the British Consul General for her work with entrepreneurs. Williams is also the Co-Convenor of The Cook Society, which fosters strong relationships between Australia and Britain.

Her philanthropic efforts extend to numerous charities, including The Violet Initiative, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Starlight Children's Foundation, Saints Care, Clean Up Australia, Jesus All About Life Bible Society, and FSHD Global Research Foundation.

"I build people, brands and businesses and I judge my life's work by the lives I've changed. Working Mothers and young people have been my passion and it has been so rewarding to have so many of my Taurus Alumni reach the success as leaders of industry in Australia. I love this country and its people," said Williams.

"There are so many Australians who are making outstanding contributions to our way of life and I hope they can be recognised too. Many are among my friends, clients and colleagues for whom I have a front row seat to their outstanding and selfless impact on our society each day."
