Omnicom Oceania appoints Daniel Klug as Director of New Media
Omnicom Oceania has announced the appointment of Daniel Klug as Director of New Media, a newly-created role within the organisation. Klug's responsibilities will involve integrating 'creativity, cultural signals, and technology' to assist Omnicom Media Group, its creative agencies, and clients in navigating new media platforms and earned ecosystems.
Omnicom Oceania says the term 'New Media' has been deliberately chosen over 'Social' to signify a broader, future-oriented approach. This encompasses technology, artificial intelligence, gaming, creator commerce, earned influence, platform-led content ecosystems, and hardware. Klug will operate across all Omnicom agency brands in Oceania, supporting clients, media teams, and creative departments in exploring emerging channels and new formats.
Klug brings with him a wealth of experience from senior roles at TikTok and Clemenger BBDO, where he focused on leveraging emerging platforms for cultural impact and commercial growth. His expertise is expected to be instrumental in guiding Omnicom's initiatives in the evolving media landscape.
Roberto Pace, Group Managing Director of Eleven & FleishmanHillard, commented on the significance of the role, stating, "New Media represents a broader canvas for creative expression and media innovation." He added, "Daniel’s appointment reflects our commitment to leading in this space ensuring our clients stay ahead of where culture, creativity, and platforms converge."
Kristiaan Kroon, Chief Operating Officer of Omnicom Media Group said, "Daniel’s appointment signals our intent to not just keep pace with these shifts, but to lead them. His expertise and perspective will help our agencies and clients unlock new creative and commercial opportunities in this expanding landscape."
Klug said, "Platforms have evolved beyond traditional social. That’s what New Media represents to me. There’s huge opportunity for brands looking to make their mark, and Omnicom has the creative depth, client partnerships, and platform relationships to lead that charge. I’m thrilled to be part of that movement."
His appointment is effective immediately.
