Infosys, Spark New Zealand forge strategic IT collaboration

Infosys and Spark New Zealand are collaborating to transform Spark's technology delivery model through digital innovation. The partnership is set to leverage Infosys' AI-first services, Infosys Topaz, and cloud services, Infosys Cobalt, to support Spark's operations.

The collaboration is expected to reduce IT operating costs and accelerate Spark's digital and AI-driven customer experiences. Infosys will provide global DevOps and software engineering capabilities to Spark, enhancing its technological framework. Despite the collaboration, Spark will retain control over its IT assets, technology architecture strategy, product design, innovation roadmap, and business applications.

Data and Marketing Director at Spark, Matt Bain, said: "Infosys has collaborated with Spark for over 16 years, working alongside our local teams to support the applications that enable Spark to deliver new products and digital experiences for our customers. We are now building on this relationship to allow our teams to focus on our technology strategy and the product roadmaps that will grow our competitive advantage, while leveraging Infosys’ global scale to execute these plans quickly and efficiently and accessing Infosys’ investment in AI and innovation to enable us to keep delivering great experiences for our customers."

Infosys plans to enhance its local workforce in New Zealand to complement its global operations. This move is part of the company's strategy to support Spark, New Zealand's largest telecommunications and digital services company, in its digital transformation journey.

EVP and Industry Head, Global Markets at Infosys, Raja Shah, said: "We are thrilled to deepen our long-standing collaboration with Spark and contribute to its ambitious digital transformation journey, leveraging Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt. Our global capabilities and innovative solutions will aim to deliver significant cost efficiencies, and over time we will work together to enhance customer experience through AI-driven insights and automation. This collaboration underscores our commitment to driving impactful change and supporting Spark in achieving its strategic goals."

Infosys is a global player in next-generation digital services and consulting. The collaboration with Spark is seen as a continuation of their longstanding relationship, which has spanned over 16 years. The partnership aims to build on this history by allowing Spark's teams to concentrate on their technology strategy and product roadmaps, while Infosys provides the necessary global scale and investment in AI and innovation.
