Mass design studio appoints new Strategic Design Director Ash Leech

Design studio MASS has announced the appointment of Ash Leech as its new Strategic Design Director, marking a significant step in the company's strategic growth.

This move coincides with the studio's relocation to a new architecturally designed space in Richmond, further solidifying their commitment to fostering a design-led culture.

Ash Leech, a seasoned professional with years of experience in full-service digital agency and management consulting environments, joins the leadership team at MASS. Her appointment is seen as a strategic move to fill a perceived gap in the market for clients seeking a highly experienced design-led team without the overheads of a larger firm.

“I’m thrilled to be joining such a talented team, who already have a reputation for their incredible design work and close client partnerships. It’s an exciting time in the studio as we embark on our next chapter together,” said Leech.

Leech will be joining forces with Design Director Marty Coghlan and business owners Tim and Cinzia Kotsiakos. The leadership team at MASS believes in the power of design thinking as a critical pathway for businesses to stay relevant, remain competitive and capitalise on new opportunities.

“We see the adoption of design thinking as a critical pathway for businesses to stay relevant, remain competitive and capitalise on new opportunities. We’re interested in partnering with clients who are looking to embrace design as an activity so that together, we can create better work,” said Tim Kotsiakos.

The studio's move to Richmond is a testament to their belief in the value of design. The new space, designed by Kart Projects, balances industrial cues with a sophisticated intervention of two new volumes, creating opportunities for group and individual conversations in open and private spaces.

“Our new studio represents our commitment to creating a space that invites collaboration and discussion. We feel like it is a better representation of who we are and where we are at as a business and we’re hoping that sharing this space with our staff and clients will inspire,” said Cinzia Kotsiakos.
