Tiktok and Billie Eilish debut 'Fan Spotlight' feature, amplifying fan engagement
TikTok has teamed up with global music sensation Billie Eilish to launch a new feature called 'Fan Spotlight' allowing artists to showcase their favourite fan videos on their profile, further enhancing the connection between artists and their fanbase.
'Fan Spotlight' enables artists to select up to five fan videos to 'pin' at the top of their profile. Fans whose videos have been chosen will receive a notification, adding an element of surprise and delight to their TikTok experience. Each 'Fan Spotlight' video will remain pinned at the top of an artist’s page for up to seven days, giving fans a week of heightened visibility and recognition.
Eilish, known for her distinctive musical style and strong connection with her fans, was the first major artist to utilise this feature. This was part of TikTok's #HITMEHARDANDSOFT campaign, which saw Eilish take over the platform to promote her new album. With over 59.3 million followers on TikTok, nearly 306 million likes across her content, and more than 7.3 million videos created using the #billieeilish hashtag, Eilish's adoption of the 'Fan Spotlight' feature is a significant endorsement.
"Premiered by superstar Billie Eilish for her #HITMEHARDANDSOFT album takeover on TikTok, Fan Spotlight is an innovative new feature allowing artists to highlight their favourite fan videos on their TikTok profile as well as in the For You Feed," Ollie Wards, Director of Music Australia & New Zealand, said. "We're excited for musicians to use Fan Spotlight to enhance their connection with fans."
The 'Fan Spotlight' feature is now available for all artists on TikTok.
