Sunita Gloster to become chair of Diversity Council Australia
Sunita Gloster has been appointed to join the Diversity Council Australia (DCA) board as a director, with plans for her to succeed current Chair, Ming Long, whose term concludes at this year's AGM in June.
"We welcome Sunita to our Board. Her broad experience, innovative thinking, and unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion make her the ideal candidate to Chair DCA into its next chapter," said Ming Long, DCA Chair.
Gloster's more than 30 year long career has seen her work across a range of sectors. She currently serves as a Non-Executive Director for UN Global Compact Network Australia and Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, and as an Advisor with Accenture. Additionally, she holds the position of Co-Chair of the Tech Council of Australia’s media and marketing committee and has previously served as an advisor to UN Women Australia.
Lisa Annese, CEO of DCA, said: "Sunita brings to the Board fresh perspectives cultivated across a breadth of sectors and we look forward to working with her to build on DCA’s achievements and continue driving progress towards inclusive and diverse workplaces."
In 2023, Gloster was recognised as a Member of the Order of Australia for her significant service to the media and marketing industry and gender equality.
"DCA has long been the principal driver of policies and knowledge that have advanced diversity in Australia’s workplace. I’m honoured to be joining the Board and am committed to working with the Board and Management team to make further progress in imbedding best practice diversity policies and practices in our workplaces," said Gloster.
DCA is an independent not-for-profit peak body leading diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
