Skills for growth in sound.
Acast opens free training platform Acast Ads Academy
Acast has introduced the Acast Ads Academy, a complimentary, on-demand learning platform aimed at enhancing marketers' skills in podcast advertising.
The initiative offers two distinct courses: Podcast Advertising 101, tailored for beginners, and Podcast Advertising 201, designed for more experienced buyers.
Upon successful completion of these courses, participants receive an industry-recognised certification. The Academy is structured to meet the increasing demand for podcast advertising expertise, drawing on Acast's decade-long experience and real campaign data.
The courses are divided into short, self-paced modules, accommodating the schedules of marketing professionals. Acast Ads Academy aims to simplify the complexities of podcast advertising, promising to save time and resources while fostering strategic growth by equipping advertisers with advanced skills.
The initiative is anticipated to train thousands of marketers globally within its first year. Acast, recognised as the world's largest independent podcast company, hosts a marketplace of over 140,000 podcasts and collaborates with 3,300 advertisers. The company is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, and is listed on the Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market.
The Acast Ads Academy is now operational and accessible to advertisers worldwide.
Henrik Isaksson, Regional Managing Director for Acast ANZ, highlighted the potential of podcast advertising in Australia, stating, "With 52% of Australians tuning into at least one podcast each month, there’s huge potential for brands to reach highly engaged audiences through audio. But one of the most common questions we hear from marketers is how to confidently navigate podcast advertising - especially alongside channels like video and socials."
Isaksson further referenced industry findings, noting, "IAB Australia’s 2025 Audio Advertising State of the Nation report found that 26% of marketers cite lack of understanding as the biggest barrier to growing podcast advertising’s share of media budgets."
He elaborated on the Academy's purpose, saying, "Acast Ads Academy is designed to bridge this gap, equipping Australian advertisers with the practical skills and confidence they need to unlock the full value of podcast advertising - regardless of their level of experience."
