AiMCO hosts first beauty influencer marketing events in Sydney and Melbourne
The Australian Influencer Marketing Council (AiMCO) is set to host its inaugural beauty influencer marketing events in Sydney and Melbourne. These events, exclusive to member agencies, creators, and brands, are scheduled for February 5 in Melbourne at Publicis' office and February 13 in Sydney at Poem's office.
The events aim to delve into current trends in beauty influencer marketing, focusing on campaign strategies, consumer purchasing decisions, and fostering authentic consumer connections. A panel of national beauty marketing experts will be featured, with Vamp APAC Sales Director, Gemma Shuttleworth, moderating the discussions.
In Melbourne, the panel will include "pharmafluencer" Hannah English and Ego Pharmaceuticals Marketing Communications and Content Manager, Courtney Barlow. English is recognised for her expertise in beauty and skincare, combining her roles as a content creator, beauty writer, and pharmaceutical scientist. Barlow brings over a decade of marketing experience, including a significant tenure at L'Oreal.
The Sydney event will feature creator Mitch Greer, Unilever Digital and Data Lead, Maria Paula Gudino, and Wella Company Digital Marketing and Communications Senior Manager, Celeste Godoy. Greer is known for her presence on TikTok and Instagram, where she shares content as a trans woman. Gudino has nearly a decade of experience in marketing and communications, with a focus on digital transformation and social media. Godoy has extensive experience in branding, digital, and influencer marketing within the beauty and FMCG sectors.
These events mark AiMCO's first major educational sessions for 2025, following what is describes as a series of successful sessions in 2024.
According to Gemma Shuttleworth, "Vamp is proud to partner with AiMCO for their upcoming Beauty Panel events, recognising one of the most dynamic categories in creator marketing. Over the past 24 months, we've worked across hundreds of campaigns in this category, giving us a front-row seat to the trends shaping the industry. We're excited to share the insights and predictions alongside our clients and creators with the wider industry."
Celeste Godoy highlighted the evolving nature of influencer marketing, saying, "Influencer marketing in the beauty industry continues to evolve rapidly, and the key to success lies in authenticity and strategic partnerships. I’m excited to join this conversation and meeting members to share insights on building meaningful connections between brands, creators, and consumers in an ever-changing digital landscape."
Mitch Greer emphasised the effectiveness of influencer marketing, particularly in the beauty sector. "Influencer marketing has quickly become one of the most effective forms of marketing, especially in the beauty sector. To promote campaigns successfully, creators and brands both need to work strategically to provide the audience with an authentic experience to drive engagement, while also working to deliver key brand messages in a way that’s meaningful. I’m thrilled to be joining the panel to deep dive into the world of influencer marketing in the beauty space!"
Patrick Whitnall, speaking on the significance of the beauty influencer industry, noted, "The beauty influencer industry is one of the biggest sectors for creators globally, with brands committing millions to powerful influencer-led campaigns. In Australia, beauty influencer marketing is big business – it has the power to resonate deeply with consumers looking for tips, tricks and products."
Whitnall further elaborated on the purpose of the events, stating, "Our upcoming beauty influencer events are designed to leverage the buzz around beauty marketing, giving our members an exclusive insight into emerging trends, campaign strategies and success stories, so they can stay at the forefront of the ever-evolving beauty industry."
