Supercars and Pizza Hut launch AR racing game 'Mount Pizzarama' for Bathurst 1000

Supercars and Pizza Hut have collaborated to introduce an augmented reality (AR) racing game titled 'Mount Pizzarama' as part of activations around Bathurst 1000.

This initiative allows fans to engage with the sport in a novel way by virtually driving a Pizza Hut Supercar on a digital version of the iconic Mount Panorama Circuit. The game is accessible through QR codes found on specially marked Bathurst 1000 Pizza Hut pizza boxes.

The competition linked to the game is set to run from now to September 26. Participants stand a chance to win a motorsport experience at the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000. The prize package includes two four-day general admission tickets with paddock access, two course car rides, two grid walks, and two Supercars merchandise packs. The Repco Bathurst 1000 event is scheduled to take place from October 9 to 12.

Supercars Head of Marketing Brenda Younes said, "The Repco Bathurst 1000 is Australia’s Great Race, and through this innovative partnership with Pizza Hut, fans can experience the thrill of Mount Panorama from their own home." Younes further added, "We’re proud to be the first sporting governing body in Australia to gamify augmented reality in this way, creating a fun and immersive link between our sport and its fans."

Pizza Hut Chief Marketing Officer Wendy Leung added, "We’re always looking for new ways to connect with our customers, and Mount Pizzarama is the perfect combination of great food, great racing, and great fun." Leung also stated, "Pizza Hut is thrilled to partner with Supercars to give fans an unforgettable experience – both in the game and at Bathurst in 2025."

The creative design and technology agency T&DA, based in Sydney, was responsible for designing the gameplay for the AR experience. Tyrone Estephan, Executive Director of T&DA, shared insights into the development process, noting, "We’ve always been passionate about bringing sport to life in new and unexpected ways."

Estephan added, "For years, we’ve wanted to create an AR racing experience, but finding the right platform and partner was key. When this opportunity with Supercars and Pizza Hut came along, it felt like the perfect fit, a fun, interactive way to put fans right in the driver’s seat."

The Repco Supercars Championship will next be held at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend Motorsport Park from September 12 to 14. This event will precede the Bathurst 1000, continuing the momentum of the racing season.
