Samsung Ads strengthens ANZ leadership with strategic appointments
Samsung Ads has announced the expansion of its leadership team in Australia and New Zealand with the appointment of Levi Guillory as Agency Head, Strategic Accounts, NSW & NZ, and Carla Dawson as Head of Strategic Marketing, ANZ & SEA. These appointments aim to bolster Samsung Ads' strategic capabilities in the region.
Levi Guillory joins Samsung Ads from Foxtel Media and News Corp, bringing over a decade of experience in sales and premium streaming platforms. In his new role, Guillory will report to Richard Wheeler, Head of Sales, and will focus on deepening relationships with Samsung Ads' agency portfolio and optimizing campaign outcomes. Guillory expressed enthusiasm for his new role, stating, "As the company continues to expand, being able to come on board and focus on enhancing our collaboration with existing partners is a welcome opportunity. Identifying areas of ongoing strategic growth in such a fast-paced industry is going to be key to making CTV campaigns work smarter for our clients."
Carla Dawson, who joins from a ten-year tenure at NBCUniversal, brings extensive experience in premium content and media. She will lead strategic marketing initiatives focused on client growth, retention, and engagement across the Asia-Pacific region. Dawson commented on her new position, saying, "I've followed the evolution of Samsung Ads over the past few years, and it's an exciting time to be joining the team. With a strong foundation already in place, I’m looking forward to building on that momentum by leveraging a blend of creative strategy and data-led marketing to elevate Samsung Ads’ presence and impact across the region."
Samsung Ads, the advertising division of Samsung Electronics, provides advanced TV advertising solutions using data from millions of Smart TVs across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. The company offers managed service and programmatic offerings to help brands achieve incremental reach, complement linear TV campaigns, manage frequency, find difficult-to-reach audiences, and measure outcomes.
The appointments come as Samsung Ads reports significant growth in its APAC client base, which has grown fourfold year over year. The company, which was launched in the US in 2015, now operates in North and Latin America, Europe, South Korea, ANZ, Southeast Asia, and India.
Alex Spurzem, Managing Director of Samsung Ads Southeast Asia & Oceania, highlighted the significance of the new appointments, stating, "To add such a wealth of experience to the team at a time when advertisers are seeking better outcomes in TV is a huge win for the company. Carla and Levi’s leadership will not only strengthen our team as we deliver smarter capabilities for advertisers, but also ensure our clients’ campaigns are optimised to their fullest potential."
