Indigenous-owned agency Slik expands creative offer, opens Melbourne office

Independent creative agency, Slik, has expanded to Melbourne in response to growing demand and new business opportunities - clients include Johnson & Johnson Medical, TPG Telecom, Qanats, Nine, Darrel Lea and the Federal and NSW governments.

Michael Maait, a long-time employee at Slik's Sydney office, has relocated to Melbourne to lead the agency's growth.

Slik, an Indigenous-owned agency founded over a decade ago, has also made two additional hires to bolster its existing and future client base.

"We're excited to have a presence here in Naarm, and see it as the next evolution of our offering for our client partners," said Kyle Bennett, Slik co-founder and head of technology. "We’ve wanted to bring Slik to Melbourne for a while and, with the support of clients, the time is right to bring our expertise and innovative approach to creativity,"

To support its Melbourne operations, Slik has appointed Sofia Houghton as a motion designer and Rani Sakeson as an account manager. "We’ve been blown away by the level of talent coming out of Melbourne and I want to welcome Sofia and Rani to the team. There’s so much potential and increasing demand for an agency that intersects creativity, data and technology and we look forward to introducing Slik’s expertise here," said Cooper LaPlanche, Slik co-founder.

Earlier this year, Slik launched a unique virtual experience for Paralympics Australia, demonstrating its approach to creativity.
