Bastion appoints Dentsu's Madeleine Leonard as marketing manager

Independent marketing and communications agency Bastion has appointed Madeleine Leonard to lead its marketing strategy in the newly created role of Marketing Manager.

Leonard brings a wealth of experience in strategic communications, senior stakeholder engagement, and integrated marketing to her new role. Her previous position was at Dentsu, a global marketing and communications network, where she was involved in internal and external communications, executive operations, and strategic employee initiatives. Leonard has also led cross-regional programs and aligned leadership teams around key priorities.

In her new role at Bastion, Leonard will be responsible for enhancing brand visibility, market positioning, and business development, reporting directly to Bastion ANZ CEO, Cheuk Chiang.

"Madeleine’s appointment signals a new chapter in how we tell our story," said Chiang. "Her breadth of experience from integrated marketing and executive alignment to internal engagement and communications makes her a powerful asset as we sharpen our focus on sales and marketing to fuel our next phase of growth."

Bastion employs over 300 staff across various locations, including Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Los Angeles, New York City, Wellington, and Auckland. The agency's client roster features prominent names such as Air New Zealand, Microsoft, L’Oréal, Unilever, Kellogg’s, Ferrari, Cancer Institute NSW, and Whittaker's.

"I’ve long admired Bastion’s bold ambition to put brands, organisations and people in a position of strength, constantly looking for ways to solve challenging client problems," said Leonard. "Joining a business that values client centricity, creativity, agility and people so highly is energising, and I look forward to helping drive the next chapter of growth."
