Campaign UK Media Editor Arvind Hickman joins Mi3 to lead media, agencies and consulting coverage

Arvind Hickman is Mi3's new Editor - Media, Agencies & Consulting. He starts June 5.
The London-based Media Editor for Campaign UK, Arvind Hickman, is returning to Australia, joining Mi3 as Editor - Media, Agencies & Consulting. Hickman’s appointment follows veteran technology scribe Andrew Birmingham’s arrival in January as Editor - CX, Martech & Ecom – and pretty much everything else linked to technology, customer and marketing.
I'm delighted to be joining such a prestigious and widely-respected media outfit that dives deep into the issues that really matter for our industry.
Campaign UK Media Editor Arvind Hickman is set to return to Australia and start in early June as Mi3’s Editor - Media, Agencies & Consulting.
Along with Birmingham’s appointment, Hickman’s arrival will continue our intent to lead original coverage and debate around industry convergence – from brand and performance marketing, media, audience and consumer trends to CX, data, ecom, analytics, martech, adtech, AI and marketing and advertising effectiveness thinking and case studies.
Hickman’s arrival at Mi3 will bring more international context to industry developments here and he will lead new editorial initiatives and programs for Mi3’s media, agency and consulting members.
Prior to Campaign, Hickman spent three years as News Editor for PRWeek UK and has edited HR Magazine in London, alongside senior editing roles in verticals including construction and business. He spent three years in Australia between 2015 and 2018, most of it reporting for AdNews.
"I'm looking forward to returning to Australia and covering the vibrant media and advertising market here once more," Hickman said. "I've known Paul, Brendan and the Mi3 team for a number of years and I'm delighted to be joining such a prestigious and widely-respected media outfit that dives deep into the issues that really matter for our industry."
But there is a prisoner swap underway – Mi3 Editor Brendan Coyne will head back to the UK in June with his family after two years of grind and typically understated contribution and counsel to Mi3.
Involved with Mi3 since we launched in April 2019, Coyne will continue as Associate Editor with a remit to manage Mi3’s Daily Editions and quality control – sharp, strategic writing and fewer typos – along with helping to build out Mi3’s next phase of development as an innovative, quality B2B publisher. Coyne will also launch a “cleantech” publishing venture in the UK covering energy markets and electric vehicles.
Hickman and Birmingham's appointments along with Coyne’s new remit continue Mi3’s perhaps overly ambitious intent to produce quality analysis and original content in trade publishing with experienced journalists and editors. It's an increasingly challenging pursuit as the talent pool depletes, with ongoing raids from commercial content operatives, events companies and the PR industry... There's much to be said for higher salary bands and less intense workloads. But the mad – and sometimes the good – remain.
Contact Arvind on email - arvind@mi-3.com.au - but not before June. You'll bounce.
