  • The winners were named at an awards ceremony in Sydney last night.

Suncorp’s One House campaign has taken out the 2022 MFA Awards Grand Prix, awarded to the insurer and its agencies, OMD and Leo Burnett last night.

The awards celebrate the most effective and impactful work created by media agencies, and this year, the organisation’s purpose has been ‘We Are The Changers’.

Campaigns from Mars Petcare Australia, McDonald’s, KFC, National Australia Bank, Virgin Australia, Goodman Fielder, Gotcha4Life and City of Melbourne were also among the winners, with agencies including Zenith Media, MediaCom, Initiative, PHD and Mindshare.

There were more than 150 judges in the process, taken from clients, agencies, industry bodies and media partners.

Greg “Sparrow” Graham was inducted into the MFA Hall of Fame for his contribution to the industry, particularly for training rising stars.

MFA Awards Chair Joe Lunn, independent consultant Victor Corones and MFA’s Head of People, Linda Wong, were recognised with an Industry Contribution honour. The NGEN Award, which recognises young media agency talent with less than five years’ experience, was handed to Ben Breden and Olivia Coxon from Initiative for their entry for UnLtd charity Batyr.

“After three long years and several thwarted attempts, the MFA is pleased we were able to bring the industry together in person to celebrate media agencies’ ability to influence change and deliver tangible brand and business results for clients,” MFA CEO Sophie Madden said.

“The quality of strategic insights, effectiveness and excellence in execution by all finalists was among the best we’ve seen in the MFA Awards’ 20-plus years, demonstrating the high calibre of thinking by Australian media agencies. All finalists and winners should be incredibly proud of their achievement."
