GroupM's Wavemaker has named Phil Mumford as the new Managing Director of its Adelaide office, replacing Matt Hofmeyer, who moved to Hong Kong with the agency. 

Mumford has worked at Wavemaker for more than six years, joining as a Client Director before being promoted to General Manager in 2018. Before that, he worked at Channel Nine in Adelaide and Ikon Communications. 

Hofmeyer was appointed Managing Director of Wavemaker Hong Kong.

The agency has long-standing relationships with brands like Mitsubishi Motors, Government of South Australia, Bridgestone, San Remo, UniSA and South Australian Tourism. 

"Phil has played a critical role in the success of our South Australian clients and the development of our people. His promotion is well deserved recognition of his immense contribution," Wavemaker Australia and New Zealand CEO Peter Vogel said. 

Mumford said he looked forward to working with Vogel and the Wavemaker leadership team, as well as WPP's Rose Herceg and GroupM's Aimee Buchanan.
