Jason Tonelli: Taking reins at Zenith.

Jason Tonelli is to take the helm at Zenith, replacing outgoing boss Nickie Scriven. The move leaves Publicis hunting a CEO for Razorfish, recently returned to market as the holdco revives the digital transformation brand globally.

What you need to know:

  • Jason Tonelli switches from Razorfish boss to Zenith CEO as of January 2023.
  • Publicis now seeking successor to lead Razorfish, the newly returned agency brand that houses Performics Mercerbell.

Jason Tonelli will replace Nickie Scriven at the helm of Publicis-owned Zenith. The holdco is now working out who will take over Tonelli's role at the newly returned Razorfish digital transformation unit, which now houses Performics Mercerbell.

"Jason’s depth of experience in media, data, technology and creative solutions has made him a key member of our executive leadership team," said group boss Michael Rebelo. "While as Chief Product Officer, he strengthened our agencies’ capabilities in the core areas of commerce and attention."

Across various group roles over the last decade, Rebello said Tonelli "has shown himself to be a successful and strategic leader focused on building a strong culture and driving business outcomes for clients”.

Tonelli hailed predecessor Nickie Scriven's work leading Zenith while eyeing an "enormous opportunity ahead ... across the full spectrum of media communications."

He will continue to lead Razorfish until the end of the year while his replacement is recruited
