• The Media i Award winners were announced at a soldout event in Sydney last night. Nine’s sales team took out the national sales gong.
• Sales teams from 13 different media owners took out awards.

Nine’s sales team has been named the National Sales Team of the Year for a second consecutive year by its peers in the Media i Awards in a sold-out ceremony at Sydney’s Ivy Ballroom last night, the first face-to-face event in three years due the Covid.

More than 2,500 media agency employees voted across three categories – National Sales Team of the Year, Sales Team of the Year by Market, and Sales Person of the Year By Category by Market.

“It takes hard work, dedication, and resilience to consistently deliver to your client’s needs at the highest level whilst at the same time navigating our dynamic and complex media landscape. And those of you who have mastered the art are being recognised this evening,” Charles Parry-Okeden, CEO of Media i, said.

The awards were introduced in 2011 and are the only recognition for media salespeople, and what they do for clients and agencies.

“The industry is back,” Media i Managing Director, Chris Winterburn, said.  

“All finalists are to be congratulated on their nomination and should feel tremendous pride in having been recognised by their agency peers as being outstanding at what they do.”

Nine was the most awarded media company, receiving eight awards, followed by oOh! Media, ARN and JCDecaux with four each. Awards were given to 13 different media owners sales organisations.
