"From my first conversation with Ollie (Rapson), I was struck by the energy and enthusiasm the team at iProspect have for the business, their clients and each other," Paul Murphy (above) said.

Oliver Rapson, CEO of iProspect Australia, has announced a new hire: Chief Media Officer at Cummins&Partners, Paul Murphy, will be joining iProspect Melbourne as MD in January. Murphy joins Kirsty Muddle in leaving Cummins for Dentsu.

What you need to know:

  • Paul Murphy has been named the new Managing Director of iProspect Melbourne, starting on January 10 after leaving his role as Chief Media Officer at Cummins&Partners.
  • This is a “major hire”, iProspect Australia CEO Oliver Rapson says, and places the agency well for 2022.

Paul Murphy has been named as the new Managing Director of iProspect Melbourne, starting in the new year after departing his current role as Chief Media Officer at Cummins&Partners.

Murphy has 25 years of experience working on both agency and client sides in Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. He is a former national media manager at Carlton & United Breweries, Client Lead at Mindshare Melbourne on NAB, and Business Director at OMD Melbourne leading Mazda and Fonterra.

iProspect Australia CEO Oliver Rapson said Murphy is a “major hire” for the agency, which positions it well for growth in 2022. Sue Squillace, CEO of Dentsu Media ANZ, said the agency is building a new digital end-to-end brand proposition with Murphy a cornerstone.

Murphy is not the first person from Cummins&Partners to join Dentsu. Earlier this month, one of the agency’s founding partners, Kirsty Muddle, was named Creative Group CEO of Dentsu after the founders of its creative flagship, BWM, completed their seven-year earnout.

Murphy begins on January 10, 2022.
