Josie Brown assumes interim CMO post at Endeavour Group

Endeavour Group has confirmed its BWS marketing chief and former Tennis Australia marketing and insights leader, Josie Brown, has taken on the group CMO reins on an interim basis.

The appointment follows the departure of Endeavour Group CMO, Jo Rose last month after a three-year stint to spend more time with her family in the UK. Rose had been leading the marketing and customer teams since joining the business shortly after its demerger, having moved to Australia almost nine years ago to join Woolworths.

An Endeavour spokesperson confirmed Brown had taken on the role of Chief Marketing Officer for Endeavour Group on an interim basis.

"Since joining Endeavour Group as General Manager of Marketing for BWS in 2022, Josie has played a critical role in evolving the BWS customer value proposition and making the 'Unboring Bottleshop' more meaningful for team and customers," the spokesperson said.

"Some of the key activations Josie has led in this space include hosting a BWS Cool Room with Fisher at the Hard Fizz home in the Gold Coast; establishing BWS as the official liquor retail partner of the AFL, a partnership which has gone from strength to strength, and launching the latest BWS brand campaign 'Here for It' with new creative agency partner BMF."

Following Brown's elevation, Katherine Ward, Head of Marketing in Pinnacle, has joined BWS as interim General Manager of Marketing during Josie's appointment.

As previously reported by Mi3, Rose's exit Group was among a number of executive leadership changes including the appointment of Paul Carew to Managing Director of ALH Hotels. Endeavour Group also created a new role of Chief Transformation Officer, which will be filled by Harinder Saluja. Saluja joins from the NSW Government's Process and Technology Harmonisation Program. Meanwhile, Ilana Stringer will step down as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer in February after more than three years with Endeavour and five years with Woolworths prior to the demerger.
