Meta introduces live translation for Ray-Ban glasses in Australia

Meta has introduced live translation capabilities for its Ray-Ban Meta glasses in Australia, allowing users to translate conversations in real-time between Spanish, French, Italian, and English.

The translations are delivered through the glasses' built-in speakers, and a transcript of the conversation appears in the Meta View app on the user's smartphone. The translation service can function without Wi-Fi or network connectivity, provided that language packs are downloaded in advance.

In addition to the translation feature, Meta is expanding its range of Ray-Ban Meta glasses with new styles. The Skyler Shiny Chalky Gray with Blue Sapphire Transitions GEN S is among the latest additions. Other styles, such as the Skyler Shiny Black with G15 Green lenses and Skyler Shiny Black with Clear lenses, will soon be available in Australia.

The Ray-Ban Meta glasses will be accessible at major retailers including Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi. These locations will also offer interactive demo experiences, allowing customers to explore the glasses' features firsthand.

Meta has also launched online brand stores in collaboration with Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi for its products. Additionally, the Ray-Ban Meta glasses are available at Sunglass Hut, OPSM, and Laubman and Plank.

The launch is accompanied by a new advertising campaign titled "The Artist," featuring Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, and Kris Jenner. The ad will debut in Australia in early May and will be showcased across various digital channels

Meta promotes the new translation feature as a solution to language barriers. Users can activate the feature by voice command: "To get started, just say, “Hey Meta, start a live translation.”"
